91Ï㽶¶ÌÊÓƵ-Columbia The 91Ï㽶¶ÌÊÓƵ announced an initiative to build a new, larger research reactor that will expand critical cancer-fighting research and medical isotope production at MU. In April, the 91Ï㽶¶ÌÊÓƵ will issue a Request for Qualification/Request for Proposal (RFQ/RFP) to solicit interest from qualified parties to provide preliminary designs and industry partnerships. The request also will support preparation of regulatory requirements for potential construction at Discovery Ridge in Columbia. Through a partnership with the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) and the Missouri Conservation Heritage Foundation (MCHF), the 91Ï㽶¶ÌÊÓƵ’s College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources made a joint announcement featuring the launch of its new Institute of Fisheries, Wetlands and Aquatic Systems. |
91Ï㽶¶ÌÊÓƵ-Kansas City UMKC dentistry researcher is using artificial intelligence for early cancer detection, increasing survival rates. It’s only fitting that Kansas City’s university would be involved throughout the largest infrastructure project in the history of the city. The new KCI Airport terminal is open to travelers and UMKC students, alumni and faculty helped make it happen. |
Missouri University of Science and Technology The United States is in the midst of a critical minerals crisis, and Missouri S&T is becoming known as a national hub to discuss and develop solutions to this issue. The university was recently awarded funding from the National Science Foundation to host the third annual Resilient Supply of Critical Minerals workshop Wednesday, Aug. 9, and Thursday, Aug. 10. The workshop will provide a platform to develop and improve roadmaps to help increase the resilience and sustainable and ethical supply of critical minerals for the United States. An aerospace engineering Ph.D. student at Missouri S&T is leading a team of 12 undergraduate students on a research project that is literally out of this world. The group’s project will receive over $160,000 from NASA in funding. NASA also awarded funding to six other teams from universities across the United States who are also working on methods to produce metals on the moon. |
